चिंतामणि कहती है, हां भैया !आज से तू मेरा भाई है मैं आपकी छोटी बहन हूं! भाई तेरा कल्याण हो...!  तेरा उद्धार हो भाई.... ! तुझे भक्ति मिले भाई...! तुझे प्रभु का प्रेम मिले। मेरी जैसी दुष्ट महिला की छाया भी तुझ पर न पड़े। मेरे भाई मैं तुझे आशीर्वाद देती हूं। बिल्वमंगल का दिल बदल गया और कहने लगा।

Chintamani says, "Yes brother! From today you are my brother, I am your younger sister!" Brother, are you well…! May you be saved brother !! May you have devotion, brother…! May you have the love of God. Let not the shadow of a wicked woman like me fall on you. I bless you, my brother. Bilvamangal changed his heart and started saying.

हे देवी! मेरे लिए तेरा यह द्वार नहीं खुलेगा तो और किसी का भी द्वार में नहीं खटखटाऊंगा आज के बाद मैं कभी अपने घर नहीं जाऊंगा। आज के बाद किसी संबंधी के घर नहीं जाऊंगा। जो सबका घर है, जो सबका संबंधी है, जो सबका स्वामी है, जो सबका बंधू है। उस हरि का द्वार में अब खटखटाऊंगा। बिल्वमंगल चिंतामणि के द्वार से लौटकर चल दिया।

O Goddess! If your door does not open for me, I will not knock anyone in the door. After this time I will never go to my house. Will not go to any relative's house after today. Which is everybody's house, who belongs to everyone, who is master of all, who is brother of all. Now I will knock in the door of that hari. Bilvamangal returned from Chintamani's door and left.

घूमता घूमता बिल्वमंगल किसी देव मंदिर में पहुंचा और भगवान से प्रार्थना करने लगा लंबे समय तक जो मेने पाप किये हैं मैं उनका पश्चाताप करना चाहता हूं। आँखो से आंसू बह रहे थे। पुजारी ने बिल्वमंगल को उठाया। बिल्वमंगल कहने लगा मुझे मत उठाओ मैं कई जन्मों से भटक रहा हूँ। मैं प्रभु के चरणों में अपने पाप धोना चाहता हूँ। हे प्रभु अब मैं तेरा द्वार छोड़कर कहीं नहीं जाऊंगा। बिल्वमंगल ने प्रभु के द्वार पर खड़े रहकर सारा जीवन बिताने का संकल्प किया। और वह उसी मंदिर में रहने लगा।

While wandering around Bilvamangal reached a Dev temple and started praying to God for a long time I want to repent of the sins I have committed. Tears were flowing from the eyes. The priest raised Bilvamangala. Bilvamangal started saying don't pick me up, I have been wandering for many births. I want to wash my sins at the feet of God. Lord, I will not leave your door and go anywhere. Bilvamangala resolved to spend the whole life by standing at the door of the Lord. And he stayed in the same temple.

लोगों ने उसकी भक्ति देखी और उसका संकल्प सुना। कुछ समय बाद बिल्वमंगल को मंदिर का पुजारी बना दिया गया। वैराग्य आने पर घर छोड़ना सरल है,और पुजारी बनकर पूजा करना भी सरल है। लेकिन दुष्ट मन को सदा के लिए प्रभु के चरणों में रखना बहुत ही कठिन है। बिल्वमंगल मंदिर में ही रहने लगा और देव मूर्तियों की पूजा करने लगा। मंदिर को संभालने का कर्म वह ठीक से कर रहा था। और साथ ही साथ अपना भक्ति भाव बढ़ा रहा था। अचानक एक दिन।

People saw his devotion and heard his resolve. Sometime later Bilvamangala was made the priest of the temple. Leaving home upon recluse is easy, and worshiping as a priest is also easy. But it is very difficult to keep the evil mind at the feet of the Lord forever. Bilvamangal stayed in the temple itself and Dev started worshiping idols. He was doing well to handle the temple. And at the same time increasing his devotion. Suddenly one day.

एक नववधू हार सिंगार से सुशोभित मंदिर में दर्शन करने आयी। दर्शन किए फूल चढ़ाए दीपक जलाया।  बिल्वमंगल की नजर सुंदर स्त्री पर पड़ी संयोगवश उस की मुखाकृति चिंतामणि जैसी थी। तो उसे देख बिल्वमंगल की सोई हुई इच्छा जाग्रत हुई। वह कुछ न कुछ बोलकर उसके निकट रहने की चेष्टा करने लगा। लो यह फूल अच्छे हैं प्रभु को चढ़ा दो... ! प्रभु का चरणामृत लो...! भगवान का प्रसाद लो...! बिल्वमंगल की दृष्टि उस युवती को निहार रही थी। उसकी आंखों से आंखें मिलाकर बिल्वमंगल मोहित हो रहा था। वह समझ गई कि पुजारी बदमाश है। वह महिला घूंगट खींचकर भागती हुई घर जाने लगी।

A newlywed came to visit the temple decorated with a necklace, Singar. Visited flowers, lit lamps. Bilvamangal's eye was on the beautiful woman, incidentally her face was like Chintamani. Seeing him, Bilvamangal woke up to sleep. He began to try to be near her by speaking something. Take this flower is good, offer it to God…! Take the Lord's Charanamrit ...! Take God's offerings ...! Bilvamangal was looking at the woman. Bilvamangal was fascinated by his eyes. She understood that the priest is a crook. The woman pulled out the veil and started running home.

कामबासना ने बिल्वमंगल को अन्धा बना दिया। उसे उसकी पुरानी आदत ने फिर से अपने शिकंजे में ले लिया। ईश्वर भक्ति का उसका संकल्प पल भर में हवा हो गया। वह अपने आपको वश में नहीं रख पाया। बिल्वमंगल उस महिला का पीछा करते हुए उसके घर तक पहुँच गया।  द्वार खटखटाया। उसके पति ने द्वार खोला। वह समझदार इंसान था। वह बोलै आइये पुजारी जी कैसे आना हुआ। 

Kamabasana blinded Bilvamangala. His old habit took him back to his grip. His pledge of godly devotion evaporated in an instant. He could not control himself. Bilvamangal followed the woman and reached her home. Knocked on the door Her husband opened the door. He was a sensible man. Let me say how come the priest came.

बिल्वमंगल ने  बिनती की: आपकी नववधू मंदिर में दर्शन करने आयी थी। मेरा चित्त मेरे वश में नहीं रहा है। आप कृपा करे एक बार फिर मुझे उसके दर्शन करा दो। सिर्फ एक बार मुझे उसके दर्शन कर लेने दो। मुझसे रहा नहीं जाता। मेरी इतनी सी प्रार्थना स्वीकार करो। आपका उपकार कभी नहीं नहीं भूलूंगा। वह युवक समझदार आदमी था। इस कामातुर जीव की दुर्दशा शायद वह समझ रहा था। वह भीतर गया और अपनी पत्नी को समझाया। 

Bilvamangala pleaded: Your newlyweds had come to visit the temple. My mind is not under my control. Please bless me once again. Let me see him only once. I can't stay Accept so much of my prayers. I will never forget your favor. He was a young man. Perhaps he understood the plight of this lustful creature. He went in and explained it to his wife.

 उसने अपनी पत्नी से कहा उसे देख लेने दे तेरा मुखचंद। में दूसरे कमरे में बैठता हूँ। वह कुछ अनुचित करने की कोशिश करे तो मुझे आवाज देना, में उस पुजारी की धुलाई कर दूंगा। पत्नी पति की बात से सहमत होकर पुजारी के सामने आयी। अपना घूंघट हटाया और बिल्वमंगल के सामने देखने लगी। वह सुहागिनी नववधु को देखते हुए अपनी आँखों से कहने लगा। हे अंधी आँखे ! इस हाड़ माँस के सरीर को जी भरके देखलो।

He asked his wife to let him see your mouth. I sit in another room. If he tries to do something inappropriate, give me a voice, I will wash the priest. The wife agreed to the husband and came before the priest. Removed her veil and started to see in front of Bilvamangal. He started to say with his eyes while looking at the beautiful bride. O blind eyes! Watch this carcass body at its best.

फिर बिल्वमंगल ने उस नववधू से कहा : "बहन दो सूए लाओ न.. !" नववधू को कुछ कल्पना नहीं थी। वह दो बड़े सूए लायी। बिल्वमंगल दोनों सूओं को दोनों हाथों में लेकर कहने लगा। हे मेरी धोखेबाज आँखे! जहां हरि को देखना है, जहां प्रभु के दर्शन करने है वहाँ संसार को देखती हो ? हे मेरी अंधी आँखे इससे तो तुम न हों तो अच्छा है।  

Then Bilvamangal said to the newlywed: "Sister, don't bring the needle ..!" The newlyweds had no imagination. She brought two big figures. Bilvamangala began to say both hands with both hands. O my deceitful eyes! Do you see the world where you want to see Hari, where you have to see God? O my blind eyes, it is better if you are not.

ऐसा कहते हुए बिल्वमंगल ने दोनों हाथों से अपनी दोनों आँखों में सूए घुसेड़ दिए। दोनों आँखे फूट गई। रक्त की दो धाराएं बहने लगी। यह देखकर नववधू घवरा गई। उसके मुँह से चीख निकल पड़ी। पास बाले कमरे में बैठा हुआ उसका पति वहाँ आया। कल्पनातीत दृश्य देखकर वह हक्का बक्का सा रह गया। पत्नी से पूछने लगा। 

Saying this, Bilvamangala pushed both hands into his eyes with both hands. Both eyes burst. Two streams of blood started flowing. Seeing this, the newlywed was ghouled. A scream came out of his mouth. Her husband came sitting in a nearby room. He was left stunned after seeing an unthinkable scene. Started asking his wife.

पत्नी ने बताया : "मुझे क्या पता ये ऐसा करेंगे ? उन्होंने मुझसे दो सूए माँगे और मेने ला दिए। मुझे जरा सा भी खयाल आता तो में क्यों देती ?" पति ने पत्नी को डाँटते हुए बिल्वमंगल की आँखों का खून साफ़ किया, ओसधि लगाई , और आँखों पर पट्टी बांध दी। हाथ में लाठी पकड़ा दी। लाठी टेकते टेकते वह  वहां से जाने लगा। 

The wife said: "What do I know that they will do this? They asked me for two sues and brought them to me. Why would I care if I had a little idea?" The husband scolded the wife, cleaned the blood of Bilvamangal's eyes, applied the odor, and blindfolded her. She took a stick in her hand. He started going from there while walking with sticks.

बिल्वमंगल गांव से बाहर जंगल के रास्ते जाते बक्त कुँए जैसे खड्डे में गिर पड़ा। आसपास में कोई आदमी भी नहीं था, और भगवान से प्रार्थना करने लगा। "हे नाथ ! मुझ अनाथ का अब तेरे सिवाय कोई नहीं है। मुझ अंध की आँख भी तू है और लाठी भी तू है। हे प्रभु ! तूने मुझे जगाया है, कि में अँधा हूँ। हे प्रभु ! में पहले भी अँधा था और आज भी  अँधा हूँ। हे प्रभु मुझे इस संसार रूपी कूप से बहार निकाल। तू मेरा हाथ नहीं पकड़ेगा तो हे स्वामी ! और कोन मेरा हाथ पकड़ेगा ? मेरे प्रभु ! मुझ पर कृपा कर। 

On his way out of the village of Bilvamangal, he fell into a ravine like a well. There was no man around, and began to pray to God. "O Nath! I have no orphan except you now. You are the eye of my blind and you are also with sticks. O Lord, you have awakened me, I am blind. O Lord, I was blind before and today I am blind as well. O Lord, take me out of the well of this world. If you do not hold my hand, O lord! Who else will hold my hand? My lord, please me.

बिल्वमंगल प्रभु से कारण प्रार्थना कर रहा है। प्रभु को लगा कि यह जीव मेरी शरण में आया है। चाहे करोड़ों पाप किये हो लेकिन जीव जब कहे कि में तेरी शरण में हूँ तो मुझे उसका हाथ पकड़ना ही पड़ेगा। भगवान कुँए के पास प्रकट हुए। बिल्वमंगल को बहार निकाला। लाठी का आगे का छोर पकड़कर भगवान आगे आगे चल रहे है। चलते चलते भगवान ने कहा:  "हे सूरदास !"

भक्त सूरदास 

Bilvamangala is praying to Prabhu for the reason. Prabhu felt that this creature has come in my shelter. Even though crores have committed sins, but when the living being says that I am in your shelter, I will have to hold his hand. God appeared near the well. Removed Bilvamangal. God is walking forward by holding the front end of the stick. While walking, God said: "O Surdas!"

बिल्वमंगल को एहसास हुआ कि यह कोई ग्वाला नहीं है, कोई बालक नहीं है लेकिन सबके रूप में जो खेल खेल रहा है वह कन्हैया है। सूरदास ने अपनी लाठी पर धीरे धीरे हाथ आगे बढ़ाया। प्रभु समझ गए कि सूरदास की नीयत बिगड़ी है।  वह मुझे पकड़ना चाहता है। सूरदास ने प्रभु को बातों में लगाते हुए कहा : "आपका नाम क्या है ?" "आप कहाँ रहते है " प्रभु ने कहा : "सब नाम मेरे ही है " और में सब जगह रहता हूँ। 

Bilvamangal realized that it is not a shepherd, there is no child, but the game he is playing as everyone is Kanhaiya. Surdas moved his hand slowly on his stick. Prabhu understood that Surdas' intentions have deteriorated. He wants to catch me. Surdas kept talking to the Lord and said: "What is your name?" "Where do you live" the Lord said: "All names are mine" and I live everywhere.

सूरदास समझ गए प्रभु के अलाबा ऐसा कोई नहीं कह सकता। उन्हें पक्का विश्वास हो गया कि साक्षात् परभृम्य, अच्युत, अविनासी निर्गुण निराकार परमात्मा सगुण साकार होकर मेरे जैसे सूरदास को मार्ग दिखाने आये है। अब में उनका स्पर्श करलू , उनका हाथ पकड़ लू , उनके चरणों में अपना सर रगड़ लू ,अपना भाग्य बदल लू। 

Surdas understood that no one can say this except God. He became convinced that the real, divine, infallible, indestructible Nirguna, the formless God, has come to show the path to Surdas like me. Now, touch them, grab their hand, rub your head at their feet, change your fate.

{बुरी से बुरी आदत को हम एक पल भर में छोड़ सकते , हमे अपने ऊपर विश्वास होना चाहिए। }
